This excursion begins as your driver pics you up from your hotel and takes you throughout the beautiful scenic costline towards to Kekova harbour. At the trip we’ll stop near by Sahin Tepesi which allows us a really good looking at the Kumlaca town and surrounding area from above. After our little break we drive still one hour to the Kekova harbour. When we get in harbour, we get on board. We sail towards to sunken city to see the tracks of the ancient city. Unbeliavable view, bays and sea.
Kaleköy (locally just “Kale”) (ancient Simena) is a Lycian site on the Turkish coast. It is a small village with the partly sunken ruins of Aperlae. and a castle. Access to the village is possible only by sea. This Lycian city of Kekova was collapsed down into the sea after an earthquake. Nobody lives there except fishs. You will see ancient monuments and buildings including a Byzantine church and your guide will let you know what ruins are and the stories of them.At the end of the boat trip we have a swimming break in any of the wonderful bay. The see water is so calm,clean,clear and turquase colour.
After the boat trip we get on our coach and drive to Myra. This ancient Lycian city is full of the rock- cut tombs .There are two necropoleis of Lycian rock-cut tombs in the form of temple fronts carved into the vertical faces of cliffs at Myra: the river necropolis and the ocean necropolis. The ocean necropolis is just northwest of the theater. The amphitheatre which can be visited by the visitors is also so fine and you’ll get a chance to visit the amphitheatre.
Finally, we’ll visit the church of St Nicholas.İt was built by the eastern Roman Empire in the 6th century. The present-day church was constructed mainly from the 8th century onward for the city’s Byzantine Greek inhabitants; a Greek Orthodox monastery was added in the second half of the 11th century. Thousands people come to here to pray in every year and it is a very important place for the bishops.
